Perhaps once pirates of the world’s oceans danced on these planks. They are witnesses of the past, whose history we do not know, steeled by the rough sea of whipping winds and mysterious forces.

Driftwood artist, beach pirate, professional beach walker, craftsman, all-rounder
Bo is an artist who lives and works on the beautiful North Sea island of Sylt. He collects driftwood on the endless beaches. The best yields come from extreme weather and storms.
Large and small works of art are created in his studio. Jewellery, furniture and lamps or sculptures made of heavy bleached timber planks that are covered in barnacles. Gifts of the tides. Florian Kowalski met Bo in his studio in List and at the sight of the powerful uniqueness of the driftwood planks, an idea manifested itself… the birth of a new FENNEN world of designs.
MATURED FOR CENTURIES
The beams of an old barn, the front of a windswept shed furrowed by rain and sun – we come across timber of historical beauty again and again. It tells its story. We immortalize them in ever new FENNEN designs.
